Classes for Young Children

Movement Arts Atlanta offers class for children beginning at age three. These classes focus on building gross motor movement skills, class-taking skills and fostering the love of dance. This sets the stage for the study of ballet. Following are the schedule and registration for the 2026-2027 Season which begins on August 10, 2026.

Kinderdance

Ages 3 & 4

Kinderdances uses fun and creative games and exercises to improve gross motor movement, rhythm and class-taking skills, all designed to support the study of ballet. Limited to 8 students per class.

  • Tuesdays, 3:30 pm - 4:15 pm

  • Wednesdays, 3:30 pm - 4:15 pm

Ballet I

Ages 5 & 6

Ballet I includes both the introduction of beginning ballet vocabulary, plié (to bend), tendu (to stretch), relevé (to rise) and sauté (to jump) and includes fun movement exercises to continue to nurture free movement. Limited to 8 students per class.

  • Thursdays, 3:15 pm - 4:00 pm

  • Saturdays, 9:00 am - 9:45 am

Beginning Tap Add-On

Ages 5 & 6

Ballet I Ladies and Gentlemen that take class on Thursdays, have the option of adding beginning tap to their class. This class is only offered as an add-on to the Ballet I class that meets prior. This class does not perform in the Annual Student Recital. Limited to 8 students per class.

  • Thursdays, 4:15 pm - 4:45 pm

  • $200 per Semester, Two Semesters per Season
