Classes for Adults
Movement Arts Atlanta adult classes have choices for both beginner and experienced students. We strive to inspire your love of dance, connect you with the strength in your body and give you the tools to dance.
Introduction to Ballet
This class is a five-week introductory course to ballet. During the course, you will learn the basics for success in any of our other adult dance classes. Week by week you will build your skills and love of dance.

Absolute Beginner Adult Ballet
Similar to our Introduction to Ballet course, this class starts at the very begining with learning how to take class, basic ballet vocabulary and finding the joy in movement. This is of course a great class for the student who has never studied ballet before but it is also a lovely reentry to ballet if you studied as a child.

Wednesdays, June 4, 11, 18 & 25, 5:45 pm - 6:45 pm, $125 per semester, $25 per class drop-in
Beginner Adult Ballet
This class is a beginner class for those with a basic level of experience. It is a wonderful next step from Introduction to Ballet. It can also be a reentry into the studio for those who have danced in the past.

Movitanz™ Senior Swans
Movement Arts Atlanta is delighted to bring this curriculum from Dance for Life Academy in Auckland, New Zealand. MAA Director, Carolyn Stine McLaughlin is the first certified instructor in the Southeastern United States. This class is an authentic ballet experience which enhances strength and balance.

Tuesdays, 10:00 am - 11:00 am, $425 per semester, $25 per class drop-in
Ballet IV
This is an intermediate class that is used for serious study for MAA’s teen student that welcome adults. If you are a professional modern dancer or a former dancer returning to the studio this class may suit your needs.
2025-2026 Season
Tuesday, 5:15 pm - 6:45 pm, $638 per semester, $30 per class drop-in
Modern II
Modern II is an intermediate level modern class. It incorporates technical exercises from the great classical modern vocabularies such as Duncan, Limón and Graham. This class is best for a dancer with experience and who is taking a least one other technique class in ballet or modern during the week.
