Movement Arts Atlanta’s adult classes have choices for both beginner and experienced students. We strive to inspire your love of dance, connect you with the strength in your body and give you the tools to dance.
Introduction to Ballet
Introduction to Ballet
This class is a five-week introductory course to ballet During the course, you will learn the basics for success in any of our other adult dance classes. Week by week you will build your skills and love of dance. This class can be repeated several times before moving on to Adult Begining Ballet, Adult Ballet or Senior Swans. This class does not perform in the Annual Student Recital.

Absolute Beginner Adult Ballet
Bring the Baby Ballet
This class is a begining ballet class where the littlest ones are welcome. There is space in our studio for blankets, strollers, carriers or play-yards. Unlike a tradition class, interuptions are accomodated and cooing sounds will be expected. This is a time to move your body and connect with other new parents. This class does not perform in the Annual Student Recital.
Mondays, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
$400 per Semester, the Drop-In Rate is $25 per class
Beginner Adult Ballet
Beginning Ballet
This class is a beginner class for those with a basic level of experience. It is a wonderful next step from Introduction to Ballet. It can also be a reentry into the studio for those who have danced in the past.

Movitanz™ Senior Swans
Movement Arts Atlanta is delighted to bring this curriculum from Dance for Life Academy in Auckland, New Zealand to Atlanta. MAA Director, Carolyn Stine McLaughlin is the first certified instructor in the Southeastern United States. This class is an authentic ballet experience which enhances strength and balance. It is adapted for the body over the age of 50.
Tuesdays 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
$400 per Semester, $25 Drop-In
Adult Ballet
This is an advanced beginner class for dancers with a year or two of experience. The class focuses on good placement for the basic vocabulary of ballet. This class can support continued study for a beginner or as a clean basic class for an adult with more experience. This class does participate in the Annual Student Recital.
Thursdays, 10:00 am - 11:15 am
$580 per Semester, Drop In Rate $38, Professional Drop In Rate $25
Ballet III/IV
This is an intermediate class that is used for serious study for MAA’s teen student that welcome adults. If you are a professional modern dancer or a former dancer returning to the studio this class may suit your needs.
Thursdays, 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm
$38 per Class, $25 Professional Rate
Note: This class does participate in the Annual Student Recital. Tution rate is different if you choose to participate.
Modern II
Modern II is an intermediate level modern class. It incorporates technical exercises from the great classical modern vocabularies such as Duncan, Limón and Graham. This class is best for a dancer with experience and who is taking a least one other technique class in ballet or modern during the week.
Saturdays, 10:00 am - 11:30P
$38 per Class, $25 Professional Rate
Note: This class does participate in the Annual Student Recital. Tution rate is different if you choose to participate.
