Summer Camps
During the month of June, Movement Arts Atlanta will offer three half-day dance camps; Dance Me a Story, Dance the World and Dance with the Ballet Russes and Short Semesters of Kinderdance for ages 3 & 4 and Ballet I for ages 5 & 6. All camps are $150 and take place at Inman Park United Methodist Church, 1015 Edgewood Avenue.
If your family is in need of early or aftercare, we are partnering with Horizons Kids for care from 8:00 am - 9:30 am and 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm. Horizons serves children ages 5-9.
Dance Me a Story
Ages 5 & 6

During this week campers will have a daily dance class based on Movement Arts Atlanta successful Kinderdance curriculum, have story time with a dance themed book and a fun activity inspired by the day's book.

Dance the World
Ages 7 - 10
Monday, June 9 - Friday, June 13
9:30 am - 1:00 pm
This week campers "travel" the world with dance. Each day will start with a beginning Modern class followed by a social dance from around the world. Planned dances are Merengue, Bachatta, West African, Hula, Native American Intertrible and Square Dancing.

Dance with the Ballet Russes

The Ballet Russes, formed in 1909, brought dance to the world with its extensive touring. This is particularly true for America. During the week students will have daily ballet class, study the documentary Ballet Russes by Dayna Goldfine and Dan Geller, learn simplified versions of variations from the ballets performed by the Ballet Russes and engage in hands-on activities to understand the historical significance of this company as it related to dance in America.
Limited to 15, At Least 2 Years of Ballet Training Recommended
Summer Young Children’s Classes
During the month of June, Movement Arts Atlanta will be offering two classes for young children on Wednesday afternoon. These five-week sessions are a wonderful way to continue study from the regular season or see if your child would like to study during the regular season.
Summer Kinderdance
Ages 3 & 4
Wednesdays, June 4, 11, 18 & 25
3:00 pm - 3:45 pm
Kinderdance uses fun and creative games and exercises to improve gross motor movement, rhythm and class taking skills, all designed to support the study of ballet.

Summer Ballet I
Ages 5 & 6
Wednesdays, June 4, 11, 18 & 25
4:00 pm - 4:45 pm
Ballet I includes the introduction of beginning ballet vocabulary, plié (to bend), tendu (to stretch), relevé (to rise) and sauté (to jump) and includes fun movement exercises to continue to nurture free movement.
